Hornby Primary School's Accident and Emergency.

We have been learning how to do impromptu drama this week. Each group is given a scenario and 5 minutes to create something to share back to the class.

This piece of drama follows a previous car accident in which patient Zion was hurt. Watch now as Doctor Yarnz, surgeon Mikaere and Doctor Ricci deal with the situation.

Matariki canvas art

We have been creating a small piece of art to represent Matariki. They have all turned out slightly different.

Matariki Lanterns....DONE!

We finished off our lanterns today. After putting wire handles on them we dropped a tea light candle inside ready to light.

Making Matariki lanterns

We have been reusing tin cans and creating lanterns for Matariki. We had to make a design using a hammer and nail. Next step will be to make a wire handle and put a tea light candle inside. It has been heaps of fun learning how to use a hammer!

Grandparent's Visit

We were lucky enough to have lots of grandparents come to the afternoon tea today. They visited the playground and classrooms and we performed a few waiata.  They had scones with jam and cream and cupcakes with tea and coffee. It was such a nice afternoon and great to see so many whānau there.  Sharleze, Shontae, Ricci, Jacinda, Ashton, Chesea, Zion and Waisea all had their grandparents attend. Ka wani kē!
