Health Leadership Team Presentation

At Hornby Primary School we have a small dedicated Health Team which have recently attended a workshop. They meet weekly and have just presented a slideshow on wellbeing at our school. Titiro mai koutou.

Designing a Digital Zoo

We are using our area and perimeter knowledge to design a zoo with Google Draw.

Road Patrol

We have a small group of girls who help out with road patrol and ensuring our tamariki safely cross our busy roads. He mihi nui ki a koutou Sharleze, Chelsea and Jaleel.

The tamariki did their morning karakia around the rākau. The wood will be used by a carving school so as not to waste it.

Hakinakina






Yesterday we had some experts from the Canterbury Tennis Club come and show us some skills to help us when playing tennis. Today they visited us again for our second lot of lessons and we have really improved. It was so much fun.

Mahi Põtaka

Today we had a go at making Põtaka using cardboard and foam. These were originally made from wood and were a common game for Māori hundreds of years ago. We had a class competition to see whose Põtaka would spin to longest!
