Matariki Cards

We have been using Google Draw to design cards for Matariki. Here are some of them. We are very happy with how they turned out.

Matariki

Over the next few weeks, we are focussing on Matariki. We have been learning about at the whetū Waitā which represents freshwater and the food and resources we gather from the lakes, rivers, streams and swamps.

WE have focussed on making pōha, kanakana and mōkih.

We have been using Thinglink or Google Slides  to share our information gathering. Here are some of our creations.

WALT create a DLO to retell the story of Tane me ngā kete e toru. For some of the tamariki in the class this has been their first time using Google Draw or Sumo Paint.

Welcome 2017

We are back for another year of amazing learning. Our classroom size has increased and we have lots of new children. These children will feature on our classroom blog in a few days.

At Hornby Primary School we have a swimming pool which we LOVE! With the weather lately, it has been incredibly hot and we have been able to cool off at lunchtimes and also have our own classroom lessons.

Today we were focussing on powerful kicking and breathing correctly.
