Nau mai, haere mai, welcome to our blog. We are a small reo rua (bilingual) class of year 4-6 tamariki in Ōtautahi. Our blog is a way that we can share our learning with the world and it gives our tamariki an authentic audience. It is also a place for us to trial new and exciting technology. Please leave us a comment and follow us if you want to see more of what we are doing. Mauri ora

ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting us from Sonoda University last week. We learned a lot about your school and also about Maori culture.
We hope you will enjoy the stories from Japan. Japan is an interesting country and maybe you can learn Japanese and visit there one day.
There are many exciting things happening in Japan soon. It will be Spring on the 1st of April. School starts then. The cherry blossoms come out and people have parties under the beautiful cherry trees.
There will be a new Emperor in Japan this year on the 30th of April. There will be a lot of celebrations.
The rugby world cup will be in Japan this year too.
And next year will be the Olympics!
Thank you for hosting us.

Kia ora koutou,
ReplyDeleteI am a teacher at Yaldhurst School and I think it's fantastic that you were able to give your visitors a fantastic welcome and that they were able to spend time sharing Japanese tales with you. I had the pleasure of visiting Sonoda University many years ago and they were very welcoming and helpful. I had a fantastic time visiting their school. I am interested to know about some of the stories they read to you. Were they similar to our traditional tales/fables? What one was your favourites?
