Nau mai, haere mai, welcome to our blog. We are a small reo rua (bilingual) class of year 4-6 tamariki in Ōtautahi. Our blog is a way that we can share our learning with the world and it gives our tamariki an authentic audience. It is also a place for us to trial new and exciting technology. Please leave us a comment and follow us if you want to see more of what we are doing. Mauri ora

Animal toast
Kia ora koutou,
Yesterday at kura we made animal toast! The tamariki all chose to do the same one ... A bear!
They WASHED THEIR HANDS (of course) and cut up bananas and grapes. We used Nutella for the upoko... YUM!
They were delicious - whakawaiwai!
Here are some pikitia :) have a go at making your own animals!

Putting a video on your blog
Kia ora e te whānau
This is a post to show you (hopefully) how to put up a video without it taking so long!
First save the video to your drive (on the left hand side, upload new file, chose where you have saved it I usually put it on my desktop then upload it from there). Put it in the right subject folder.
Then up the top when you are writing your blog post there should be "Link" in blue
Click on it
A box pops up
On another tab open up your video (on your drive) and copy and paste the URL in the box (next to "web address" box) click "Okay" and the link should come up under your writing --- see my link below ...
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1faaY_EQuKyTJYCnoBiUDc8_XzR_2I3mZ
Then people will click on the link and be taken to your video. They may have to then ask for access which will come up on your email and you can allow them.
Hopefully that works! Please email me if you still have some trouble.

ANZAC Day Sharing
Ata Aio kouotu
What a beautiful start to the day remembering our past and present people that fought in the wars. At 6am we gathered in our bubbles at the end of our driveways as we listened to Radio New Zealand broadcast a live stream of the Last post, the Ode, National Anthems and a short kōrero from Ron Marks. It was really nice and a warm morning too. After that we had pancakes cooked on the BBQ and at 9.30am there was an ANZAC karakia for our class and anyone else that wanted to join in with a sharing of some special ANZAC blog posts and a few waiata. Here is a short movie of our google hangout.

How cute are these?
While walking last week I came across these sheep with their tails still on. They look super cute especially when they run away.

Spot the Easter egg.
Spot the Easter Egg ... All around New Zealand tamariki are colouring in easter egg pictures and putting them up around in their windows.
Because we have a fence up to block our windows Ariā and Mana have done our easter eggs on the fence.
Luckily it's chalk and will wash off.... SPOT THE HEKI Heki = egg
